For Domino users, PDF's main attraction, is that it is a convenient and commonly accepted vehicle for distributing documents to non-Notes users.

PDF is used when:

  • the application specifies PDF - many organizations, especially government agencies, require that documents be submitted in PDF.
  • documents must be viewable on various operating system and hardware platforms.
  • a free and easily available viewer is required.
  • an industry standard format is required and PDF meets the need

To meet this need, The Imaging Group now offers a PDF output option for both ExperScan and ScanToNotes.

ImageSuite gives the user the ability to control the PDF's format and contents: See Screenshot

  • "burn" metadata such as title, subject, author, keyword, title permanently into the PDF file itself
  • specify page layout and options such as page size, margins, etc.
  • optionally let ImageSuite generate page features such as page numbering and page captions
  • scan into multipage PDF files, single page files or create multiple single page PDF files in one application run.
  • automatically create bookmarks if desired.
A bookmark is a type of link with representative text that appears in the Acrobat Reader navigation pane. Each bookmark in the navigation pane points to a different view or page in the document. ImageSuite offers the option of automatically creating a bookmark for each scanned page. The bookmarks are listed in the navigation pane which is visible on the left hand section of the Adobe reader page. See the link below for a document with automatically created bookmarks

Remember ImageSuite saves options. So once you set up an application, you do not need to enter the same options every time you run the ImageSuite scanning application
